Overview:

Also known as our “Geezer Gate” this 4’ gateway module has a hinged lift panel, allowing easy access to the infield area of the layout for those who have a little trouble crawling under modules. Unlike other gateways, this one looks like a regular module, having full depth and a skyboard. This unique module was designed by our Minister of Engineering, Steve "Sir Fig" Newton. When the gate is opened, safety switches kill power to all tracks on the module and on the two adjacent modules so that no train will accidentally fall into the void or slam into the vertical gate. Special bracing is in place to counteract any misalignment caused by torque or strain. Track alignment is assured by redundant mechanisms that force the gate to seat properly.
