Sign Board

Motorists travelling Route 66 as it swings out and over the Rock Island tracks near the small western Oklahoma town of Foss have lots of things to see and do. After gassing up at the Sinclair station, playing a round of miniature golf, shopping at the trading post and enjoying the traveling carnival, they can get a good night's rest and go for a swim at the new motel just across the highway. Six miles south of Foss, at Burns Flat, OK, is Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base. A former Naval Air Station, it became home to the 98th Bombardment Squadron of the Strategic Air Command in 1957. Watch out for that B-52 Stratofortress on final approach!

Description & History

This module was originally designed to be an eastern Oklahoma 40's era motor court with individual cabins, but as always, the as-built result doesn't necessarily match the plan. Originally called Motor Court, we realized that the name was inconsistent with the the 1950's, western Oklahoma diorama we actually built One of our members is heavily into N-Scale carnival rides and donated several for this module. Thanks, Snowman!
