In November of 1905, two years before Oklahoma statehood, wildcatters Robert Galbreath and Frank Chesley drilled the Glenn #1 well just southwest of Tulsa and discovered the Glenn Pool oil field. This event started a boom that lasted over 70 years as thousands of wells were drilled and Tulsa became known as "The Oil Capitol of the World". Many of Oklahoma's oil fields were discovered by wildcatters, men who speculated on leases and drilled with very little supporting geological data. Environmental impact was not an issue in those days. If the wildcatter didn't have an oil tank, he stored the oil in a pit dug in the ground. |
In our ongoing effort to promote variety, we built three 4' x 30° corner modules. When attached to our standard 4' modules, we end up with a 120° corner. With three of these we can shape the layout as a triangle or, with our inside corners, an indian arrowhead. We like this interesting and novel alternative to the standard rectilinear layout shape. |
