Illinois Central Panama Limited

Described as the Main Line of America, the Illinois Central's Panama Limited connected the Deep South at New Orleans with the Midwest at Chicago. The Panama Limited was famous for its fast schedule as it was able to complete the journey between Chicago and New Orleans as quick as 16 hours and typically traveled at speeds of up to 100 mph.

The Panama Limited has just passed Peterson Chemical and is rounding the turn at Mounds.

Northern Pacific North Coast Limited

The North Coast Limited started in 1900 as a summer-only service between St. Paul and Puguet Sound. It expanded to a year-round daily train in 1902 and by 1911 it's route had extended to Chicago. The last train operated on April 30, 1971.

Santa Fe Grand Canyon Limited

The Grand Canyon Limited was operated by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway between Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California. Train length varied; the train often ran in two or three sections during the summer months. Near the end of its career, in 1968, a typical consist between Chicago and Kansas City was two Alco PA's, one streamline baggage car and two coaches.

The Grand Canyon Limited rolls east over Newton Ravine on it's way to the Micropolis Yard.

Santa Fe Tulsan

The Tulsan connected Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kansas City from December 10, 1939 until the start of Amtrak. Trains #211 (westbound) and #212 (eastbound) made the 256 mile trip in approximately five hours.

The Tulsan is ready to depart the Tulsa Depot.

C&NW Shoreland/Valley '400'

The Shoreland/Valley 400 was one of the Chicago & North Western streamliners initiated during the early 1940s. They served the Chicago to Green Bay corridor running via Milwaukee/Fond du Lac. The Shoreland/Valley 400s were discontinued in 1971.

City of St. Louis

The City of Saint Louis was one of the Union Pacific’s premier fleet of passenger trains. It connected the Midwest with the west coast. The train debuted on June 2, 1946 originally connecting St. Louis with Cheyenne, Wyoming via Denver.
